Meet in the morning at Emil's Hotel (Escalon), where we will head to Campo Bravo for the days training, (Or if you know the way-just meet at Campo Bravo). Saturday go to the tienta (location to be announced). Sunday, train until around noon.
To train, bring comfortable workout clothing and shoes, trastos, sunscreen, water, snacks. If you have horns, bring them. For the tienta, bring low heeled boots, jeans and white button down shirt (in case you dont hava a traje), water, maps and gas your car. If you have a cell, bring that too for enroute to the tienta. Suggested accommodations in Escalon is Emil's Hotel, 209-838-7674. It's best to call and make reservations for Friday and Saturday night. Note* There are other hotels 15 miles away in Manteca, which are less convenient, but a lot nicer for about double the price. For information on these, email the Administrator. We do use Emils as a meeting place, as most students stay there.
This workshop cost is $300.00 (whether or not you attend 1,2 or 3 days).
Prerequisites: Attendees must be paid in full and have own equipment.(this includes, Capote, Muleta, palillo and ayudado).
Traje requested (though not required) for tienta. Note-it is respectful to the ganadero and makes a good impression on him to dress properly . If you don’t own a traje, slim cut black jeans and a long sleeved white button down shirt is also acceptable.
Deadline for application and payment is October 24, 2012 . This is offered on a first come first serve basis.
**If you choose to bring an observing guest, please let me know as this MUST be cleared with Matador Borba, and the ganadero as well beforehand. Non students will not be allowed into the ring and are strictly observers.
You are responsible for your own accommodations, meals, transportation and equipment. You must have a current tetanus shot, and have your own health and life insurance.
You will be issued a legal waiver to sign upon arrival. Applications sent upon request.
